Poly-Hydroxy Acid (PHA) (gluconolactone) The second generation of hydroxy acid technology, PHA has a larger molecular size than alpha-hydroxy acid, meaning it works exclusively on the surface to deliver gentle yet effective exfoliation. Our amount of poly-hydroxy acid was specifically chosen so it can be left on skin. It helps improve skin radiance and the appearance of skin texture by breaking apart the bonds between dead skin cells to accelerate exfoliation on the top surface layer of skin. Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) (glycolic acid) With a much smaller molecular size compared to PHA, AHA easily works through the top surface layers of the skin to accelerate deeper exfoliation. AHA helps accelerate skin renewal and exfoliation by breaking apart the bonds between dead skin cells on multiple surface layers. This leave-on acid also helps improve skin radiance and the appearance of skin texture for overall smoothness. Glycerin Skin-replenishing glycerin, a natural compound derived from vegetables, serves as the perfect complement to the powerful pairing of two exfoliating hydroxy acids. Glycerin is a widely used humectant due to its ability to attract water to itself and help boost moisture levels on the top layers of skin.
